Cauliflower Mushroom (Sparassis crispa)–?
Without more information I can not be totally certain of my ID but on the basis of what is presented in this excellent picture, it appears to key out as Sparassis crispa (Cauliflower Mushroom). You will find the mushroom listed on page 657 of the reference “Mushrooms Demystified” by David Aurora. David says that it is a choice edible but needs to be well cooked. Please regard this ID with caution. Richard Nadeau
