Edible Plants -- continued

Large-flowered or White Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum)

The young, unfolded leaves are good in salads. They become bitter once the buds or flowers appear.

This picture belongs to my dear cousin, Linda (Nadeau) Landriault. Thanks Linda, we have no white trilliums in my area.

Wakerobin, Red or Purple Trillium (Trillium erectum)

The young, unfolded leaves are good in salads

Common or Virginia Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana)

Cow Parsnip (Heracleum lanatum)

The seeds make a condiment pleasing to some people.
