Clathrus Ruber

Thank you Aliza Forman for these two pictures and the identification of these Stinkhorns.

It is a Clathrus Ruber. All of the pictures I've found of it seem to be of it in the dried up stage that happens during the day. I'm going to try to take some pictures of it first thing in the morning, when it is blown up like a balloon & has a slimy appearance if another one pops up. They seem to dry up & die in the course of a day here, but there is no shade where they are growing.

Clathrus Ruber--showing relative size.
