Background Notes: In Flanders Fields

I have always wanted to include a musical setting of John McCrae's poem in my Canadian collection. Though I found references to almost sixty distinct musical works created for the poem, they are protected by copyright, so I am unable to publish them to my website.

Still driven by my desire to share a musical interpretation of Canada's most famous poem, I embarked on composing an original melody. The results are what you hear. For what it's worth, I have consigned the tune to the Public Domain. You may use the tune when and how you wish, though credit would be appreciated.
