Forest Forager for your natural and wild foods, herbs, crafts and things. |
| Aromatic plants have been used for thousands of years to ward off insects,
devils, mental illness, and to camouflage other odors. Industry
uses aroma to lure customers to products. Religions used them in rituals
since before civilization. Aromatic-therapy enthusiasts claim all kinds
of benefits from the use of aromas. There is no doubt that there
may be many benefits to Aroma-therapy. No one doubts the
negative effects of bad odors. For all the interest in the
world of aromas, there is little control or regulation over the
making and sale of aromatics. Almost anything, except for controlled substances,
can be burned in a candle without knowing the effects they may have
on the body. Witness the use of synthetic materials in cheap aromatic-candles.
I feel nauseous when I walk past them in a store.
All products except some craft items, which we sell are entirely natural. The aroma essences used have been used for a long time by many cultures--they are time-tested. This is true of the candles, smudge sticks, and incense. We make no claim of any kind. Our personal use is largely based on belief, experience, and what has been traditionally practised by cultures over time. Some are for pleasure, others we use for medicinal purposes. Check out the Product List for more. |

Our all-natural, beeswax candles have the
sweet smell and color of honey. There are even some
dead bees suspended in the wax. This is a must-try.
Burn one of these and you will never go back to the artificial
kind.
Roman Candles are light torches made from absorbing plants dipped in wax or oil. Ours are dipped in wax. Blueberry leaves were burned by the American indians to treat mental illness. Colt's Foot has been and is popular in Europe as a cold medicine. Mullein has been used to treat respiratory ailments. Try relaxing with the odor of a pine or spruce fire. |
